THE MUSSEL FARM

To the north, in Dobrudja, in one of the cleanest areas of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast in the beautiful Kaliakreni Bay, is the Dulboka mussel farm. Here are grown ecologically pure Black Sea mussels known for their taste and beneficial ingredients

NOSE KALIAKRA

Cape Kaliakra is a rocky peninsula jutting out into the sea. From afar it attracts the eyes of tourists with its peculiar silhouette. There are many natural cave-like rooms along it. From the last “room” in the cliff, an arched window opens over a dizzying chasm where the waves of the Black Sea crash with a noisy splash around the balbans piled under the narrowest protrusion of the mountain promontory. This part is called the “forty maidens’ door”.

BALCHIK PALACE

Less than a century ago there were only three old mills by the small creek on the seashore, and the grapes were gathering sweetness in the scattered vineyards on the sandy slopes… Balchik reminds of a forgotten corner of the romantic orient when in 1913 it temporarily became a Romanian possession. Artists and poets fell in love with it, and later Queen Maria of Romania chose the picturesque area around the river to build her residence – her “Silent Nest” on the seashore. It’s not a palace like any other.

Bolata beach

Bolata Beach is located between the Kaliakra Cape and the village of Balgarevo, in the Northern Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. The beach is part of a reserve of the same name, over which passes one of the great aerial highways of migratory birds from all over Europe – Via Pontica. Bolata beach is also known as a diving spot.
